Hello everyone! It's time I start sharing my work in here too and not just in Facebook group(s), so here goes my first post in here. Any kinks in the post are due to 1st time using this forum software. :)

My latest project is CP Yakuza Akane bust from Ouroboros Miniatures. A rather lovely kit, but I decided to modify it quite a bit before painting. I tilted the head to give her more passively intimidating look and then proceeded to drive myself crazy by green stuffing the whole jacket to make it look like a sequin jacket. At the same time I gave her leather pants and modified the hilt of the katana. I also put some very nasty marks on the face with some extra piercings.

Now I finally got to start the actual painting part with some work on her face. As you might have already noticed, she's heavily influenced by Ichi the Killer manga/movie. There's still work to do, but the sickly face is heading to right direction. I'll only paint the irises once the head is attached to the torso, so I can get the look right.

Most definitely not my kind of thing but your work on it so far both on sculpture and painting is of very high level.

Oda.

Thanks! She's certainly not going to win any beauty contests, and that's very much on purpose. I'll try to get more work done once I'm back home from the weekend retreat.

Akane got some color in her hair today, but I feel something's missing. This was the first time I've ever attempted painting (dyed) blonde hair, and it feels a bit flat to me. Any tips on what I'm missing? Should I put some blue on the highlights and maybe green in the shadows to liven it up? Or maybe just brighten the light areas more?

Calling the head done for now. Adding the loose strands of hair was a bit nerve-wrecking but worth it I think. I'll add the irises and do some tuning once the head is attached to the body, but for now I'm ready to move on to painting the torso and some yakuza tattoos.

Got my lazy ass away from (free) Destiny 2 and back to painting. Managed to get some basic work done on the irezumi for my Akane and I think it's heading to the right direction. There's still a lot to do, like more colors, refining, and finally re-highlighting the skin. After tonight I'm really happy I finally got myself some beautiful W&N Series 7 brushes, painting
small details with them is SO much easier than with the cheapo brushes I had before.

Finished the tattoos and the top - at least for now. The top seems a bit too flat to me (it's supposed to be t-shirt type material), painting black is always a challenge. I may end up putting some slight color glazes in there once I see how everything works together with the jacket painted and the head attached. Might also do some more skin highlights later.

Been a while since I did an update on this build. I got the sequin jacket mostly painted and finally attached the head so I could work on the eyes. Now I only have the hands and the katana to do, but those might take some time, since I think I'll do some more green stuff work and give her fingerless driving gloves. After all that it will be some overall tuning.

I've been wondering if I should give the jacket a gloss or satin varnish coat, since that would be kinda realistic, but then again that would screw with the painted-in reflections.

I've been far too busy with other stuff, but I managed to finally find time to do some painting on my Akane. The hilt of the sword is pretty much finished, now I only have to tackle the elephant in the room that is the NMM on the blade. Also since the last update I did the hands with green-stuffed gloves added in.

She's finally finished! This was a great learning experience in many ways, even if it did take quite a long time. You can find more pictures and short snippet to set the mood in putty and paint.

Btw: can anyone please tell me how I can change the tag at the thread from WIP to completed? Or if that's possible at all. I can't figure it out.

Absolutely bloody marvellous! I love what you did with that original bust, sculpt and paint wise.
