A Fixture
I got this figure in the mail Tuesday and was again thrilled to see another Alan Ball figure cast by United Empire. This figure represents an Alemanni Warrior, 600AD
AB24
Alemanni Warrior, 600AD
75mm resin
9parts
sculpted by Alan Ball
painted by Marion Ball
The figure is comprised of 9 parts (2 spurs attached to sprue ) and is cleanly cast in yellow resin. Once again Alan's attention to detail is amazing. From the chainmail vest to the bear skin cloak, he has given us detail that paintbrushes cry out for. The necklace suspended on the chest is held by a tiny cast strand that goes around the back of the head. The minute ties below the belt which fasten the chain mail. The right arm has a leather wrist protector engraved with a design that will really come out after painting. The knife suspended at the waist also has leather tooling design. I could go on and on about the fantastic detail Alan has sculpted into this figure. I hope the photos I have taken will show you the tremendous detail cast into the Alemanni Warrior.
The bearskin cape is attached to the back and meets perfectly at the neck and bottom of the hair. There is "NO" gap.
The side view shows the joint where the cape fastens (if you can see it, it butts up perfectly ).
The finely detailed hair is braided on the back.
Both weapons attach by a corresponding located lug and also have finely sculpted detail.
Overall I feel this is one of the finest, if not the best figures I have seen from this time period and I would reccomend this figure to all who love to paint a quality casted 75mm figure.
