Hello guys, I have just finished this earlier. This was a great figure, well recommended. The figure depicted served about 10 miles from where I am sat... As always any questions etc. please do not hesitate.
It is a cracker, without doubt. I read in the bumpf that comes with it that he was based in Carlisle, about ten miles from where I'm sitting right now!
Cracking job on this, I reckon he'd be a bit chilly depending on the time of year. The shield is really good, better every time than a decal and interesting to see the stages you went through.

Very nice job. It must have been hard painting the hoops around the standard.
He is based on Flavinus, a trooper of the Ala Augusta Gallorum Petriana bis torquata milliaria civium Romanorum ("The thousand-strong Gallic cavalry regiment of the revered Petrianus, Twice decorated, Roman Citizens."). They were evidently a very famous regiment as Roman historians could just drop the name and fully expect their readers to know who "the Petrian regiment" were.
