I agree Marc, boyish face for sure. I also feel the pose and facial expression of Alexander don't match the pose and intensity of the horse. His look is one of almost nonchalance or of being somewhat aloof. I think it's a well rendered piece, but the figure needs more intensity for me.

Dear friends Alexander at the battle of Issos was 23 years old so has this young expretion see the pictures!!!!!!!!!

Nevetheless all Alexander's sculptures show it to us an absent persnage of this world,mystical looking the horizon.
The face based on a Roman copy.
Yes it has rods inside the legs.

I like this...maybe not the top of my list, but I like it. As soon as I saw the face, the classical influence jumped out at me. I thought it Rafael-like.
