As I am a loyal follower and admirer of Alive History Miniatures and have several of their kits in my GA,I found out about this project quite early and consequently placed a preorder for one kit (this is a limited edition of only 25 kits).I have recently received my copy and I cannot express how much I was impressed.The elephant comes in resin while the figures in metal.All components are brilliant in terms of casting.The elephant will need some putty when put together but this is quite natural for a kit of its size.The detail on all of the figures (including facial expressions) is spot on.The kit comes with a banner (not visible in the pics) in sheet copper (with tassels) already assembled.The company also produces a set of Macedonian peltasts as well as more Indian warriors on foot that can be combined to produce a stunning diorama of the battle of Hydaspes or any other battle between Hellenistic and Indian forces.In my opinion this is a must for lovers of this historical period and as there are only 15 pieces left.....

This certainly looks the business.....and if Oda gives it the thumbs up then we
can be assured it's worth our full attention because he knows a thing or two.
It's a magnificent project and beautifully painted, but I have a slight niggling
concern about the scale of the horse...is it just a distortion of the photo ?

Thanks for the trust Mike.As promised I will upload photos over the next few days so you can all judge for yourselves.You are not wrong about the horse,although I think it can be used but in my case I am going to use the Macedonian Peltasts on foot to surround the elephant.More of this when I upload the pics.

I have to agree the horse looks a bit odd, out of scale and almost an afterthought,

Lovely piece though but I wouldn't use the horse.

Thank you for attention to this figures.
You can buy without horseman if you want.
But height of the indian elephant is 2,5 - 3,5 m.
The height of the horse at the withers is 1,6-1,8 m.
So if you see to photo all is near normal.
And additional photos this horse under other horseman are attached too

King Pyrrhus of Epirus (the figure in the additional pictures) is one more of Alive History's exceptional releases and one of my personal favorites.

What an exceptional kit and so wonderfully painted.

Beautiful kit and the painting is masterful but for me, a bloke (even a titan like Alexander The Great!) trying to 'leap aboard' an enraged war elephant in full 'charge' mode just doesn't work and indeed, 'why?' would you...? With the charging horse figure however in the other pictures provided above. that (in my personal opinion) compliments the piece much better. A fabulous piece that will require an equally exceptional painter to get the most out of it.
