Hello Taesung, I'm glad to finally see an American figure from Alpine in this scale. This one will match up nicely with your B.A.R. infantryman. Dmitry Shevtsov has done an excellent job with the sculpting. I like the trench coat, and the thompson MG looks really good. I also like the pose, it gives alot of display options. MH Hwang has done an exceptional job with his painting. I'll have to get this one, to nice to pass up. Congrats and Regards, SG:happy:

Thanks, guys!
Dmitry has done an excellent job on this one.

Also, I'd like to welcome MH Hwang to Alpine team.
He is a new young painter fighting out of S. Korea.
I hope to see more work from him in the future.

A superb figure, I'm ready to order him !

The raincoat is an interesting touch, I have a book with some pictures of the early days of September 1944 in which you see G.I.'s entering Belgium, having these raincoats (how do you call that thing, "Enlisted Men's Raincoat O.D. 7" or something ?) ready at hand folded over their webbing belt at the back; Seems it regularly rained in the first week of September 1944 and they liked to keep dry.

Would it be correct to place him in the battle of bulge settings?

Best Alpine 1/16 figure to place in a Battle of the Bulge setting is the BAR gunner I think - see unpublished Time Magazine/Life pictures of the period here :

The new figure 16022 is a possibility too I think : Time Magazine/Life pic of a guy in raincoat with German prisoners, and a pic of two GI's wearing their poplin raincoats after the hostilities in the La Gleize were ended, possibly early 1945, with King Tiger "332" in Spa in the vicinity of the railway station I think:

Besides a Battle of The Bulge scene, another good one would be, the Hurtgen forest battles. It was cold, wet, rainy, with snow, and fog. Perfect attire with this figure, for this campaign. Regards, SG:happy:

Today, I just simply pre-ordered and pre-paid for the 1/16 US GI - that's how I vote for "more of this top quality Allied WW2 stuff".

On the Battle of the Bulge question, there is also this photograph of US paras of D Company, 2nd Batallion, 504 PIR, 82nd Airborne, photographed on or about the 21st of December 1944 somewhere on the road from Rahier to Cheneux, in the area of La Gleize and Stoumont. So, these were the kind of men who stood firm against Kampfgruppe Peiper.
At least two and probably more para's in this picture are dressed exactly like the new Alpine figure, with a raincoat. Two men are wearing the wool greatcoat. The weather from 16 to 25 december in the Ardennes in the La Gleize area was cold and rainy, with lots of mud on the roads. No snow, that was later, in Bastogne. In La Gleize the snow started falling when Peiper and the Leibstandarte had gone. The 82nd AB fought as infantry in the Ardennes and was uniformed and equipped accordingly.
Anyway, this picture is interesting reference material for those who want to display this soldier as a GI in the Ardennes.
Note that the 82nd had probably ben sent in a hurry to the Ardennes, as the men still had the M-43 uniform & boots they had been wearing in Holland in September 1944, their weapons, and a raincoat or a wool greatcoat; instead of haversacks and proper backpacks with their personal kit many if not all of these men seem to have wrapped their belongings in a hurry in what seems to be wool blankets or bedrolls tied with string. (not too difficult to add to this figure if you want)
