A stunning set of figures Taesung!

I can see excellent portraits of Meyer on the left and Wunsche next to him, are the other two known personalities?

Date wise this would be about June 9th 1944, Wunsche was wounded by a Canadian tank shell splinters during the unsuccessful night attack on Bretteville and Norrey on the 8th June. He returned from hospital with a bandaged head on the 9th to watch 12 Panthers of 3 Kompanie/12-SS Pz-Regt attack in the direction of Norrey-en-Bessin. They were taken in the flank by 9 Shermans and a Firefly from the Elgin Regiment, 2nd Canadian Brigade and lost 7 Panthers in 4 minutes. In the book 'Panzers in Normandy', by Georges Bernage he says Wunsche was 'forced to restrain himself from shouting out his rage and despair' while he witnessed the destruction of 3 Kompanie. That look you've captured on Wunsche's face could almost be that rage.

Really brilliant sculpting!

All the best,
Jon.

Excellent figures, as always from Alpine, but to be honest I had a funny feeling with the title "Defender of Normandy".
If I'm not mistaken the Normandy locals were rather happy when their 'defenders' left town.

My compliments for the sculpting and painting nevertheless! Sorry for being sensitive (maybe it's all the D-Day comemmorations).

Cheers
Adrian

How about : "Defeated in Normandy" then?

Very well sculpted set, but not perhaps not typical of the forces facing the Allies, although the British and Canadians did come up against a couple of Panzer Divisions outside Caen.
