54mm white metal
Sculpter / painter not stated on box art
7 parts

This figure comes sandwiched between a sturdy layer of foam and is comprised of 7 white metal parts. Very little seam lines to removed and loaded with buetiful sculpting of the folds with an excellent facial expression.

Below you see the figure parts as they actually arrived in the foam packed box. All the parts were enclosed in a plastic baggy to ensure against lose of parts.

The figure drapery is excellent as is the anotomy.

The arms are cast seperetly and the left arm has a seperate shield which attaches to a locator lug and hole.

The shield can be painted to many Greek designs and could really enhance the figure when complete. The helmet crest is also cast seperetly and is sculpted with excellent detail.

Conclusion - An excellent figure depicting a Greek Amazon Warrior in full battle pose and stance. Very little seam lines to clean up with an Xacto knofe and or file.

Hats off to Jose Jarque for an excellent figure.

Hi Guy, nice review for a nice figure, I hope you do not mind if I add some shots of the original sculpture (the master).
In my opinion that guy (Eduard) is a very talented sculptor, notice the original pose and the fineness of details.
I read some not so good comments out there, but after seeing the master it is obvious that some people just talk with no idea about it.

Thanks Luca,
Additional photos are always welcomed to any review I do. I especially enjoy seeing photos of the master. I've read some of the other comments and Jose has a winner here regardless of the comments.

Good gents,
nice master, good photos :). And where the 'other' discussion could be found?
I am interested in those comments, as usua ,
the title - Greek Amazon is a funny name though, simply Amazon would do, after all there were never any Greek Amazons in mythology, rather Thracian or Scythian.
The sculptor very skillful, and pretty knowledgable about the subject, albeit this stuff is rather mythologic so any outfit would do :), or better yet no outfit at all, just a spear, pelta and a helmet :)

Hi Dario,

it is nice to hear from you again. I agree with your judgment of the figurines. As well as your statemant "it would be better no outfit at all, but spear, pelta and helmet". Very nice Idea!

On of the best sculptings of amazone warriors were made by the German (Bavarin) artist Fürst von Stuck in the 19th century. I have seen his statues in his museum in Munich. It is unbelivable how he was able to made the amazone warrior, but they still women and the movement and the anatomy is a dream for everybody who do sculpting.

They are nice mythological figurines.

Best regards from Germany

Bruno

Hi all!

This figure looks good,it's movement is very convincing and the sculpture looks clear. However,I don't like the armor. She looks like an Hoplite, and I think ancient Greeks didn't imagine them like this.

Btw,Amazons first existed in Greek Mythology. In many cultures mythology did existed women warriors, but the name Amazon is for the Greek ones.As a proof, check the myth related with Hercules and their Queen Hippolyte.

Cheerz!
-Kostas.
