Has anybody in Planetfigureland got any good references for rebel flags from the American War of Independance? It is for a project I have underway at the moment. I've found a couple of websites, but still feel there might be more out there. I do understand reference as such are hard to come by etc.

Any books etc that can be recommended would be most welcome.
thanks guys.

Anthony, Could you be more specific as to what type of flag you're looking for? There examples of militia flags, state unit flags or Continental flags.~Gary

Anthony, I have an invaluable volume titled, "Standards and Colors of the American Revolution" by Edward W. Richardson, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press 1982 ISBN 0-8122-7839-9. It contains 64 color plates of Continental and State banners plus French, British, and Tory. You might look for it if you want but I think we could arrange for the information to get to you. --Steve Scott

Thanks very much fellas, yes it is certainly the battle flag of a militia some some kind.

Steve, I'll look out for that book and see if I can gold hold of one, looks like it will certainly add to the stuff I've already seen.

Thanks for coming good fellas!

Matt, I should have known I'd upset somebody.........! ;)

Thanks for bailing me out Gary!

Anthony,

These are probably the type of flags you're talking about.~Gary
