Hi folks...Need to know what you really think 'bout this chap, surely a VIP at his time (1st century AD),wearing a ceremonial helmet and armour...the cloak style has been changed along the way...
Is made in Magic sculpt, 75 mm 1:24scale.
Please mates let me know what you'll find good but most important thing what's wrong....
Cheers

Spectacular! Mind -boggling detail...worthy of my favorite made-up word: fabulousity!

Hi Rinaldo,

Incredible sculpting! Very impressive.

How do you handle the smaller surface details? I assume you attach smaller blobs of magic sculpt and then shape them; if I try to do that, they fall off when I start shaping. Do you glue them first maybe?

By the way, I have never seen such a helmet, but since I am not a big expert, this might not mean anything; did you do this from references?

I look forward to your further progress!

Adrian

..Yes,Adrian, I put just a small amount of "fresh" putty on the cured surface cleaned with alchool then I work on it with tools....This doesn't work (to me...)if I leave the putty in standby...About that unusual helmet: yes I did it (as well as the armor)from references but I couldn't post 'em because under copyright....Think isn't illegal saying the helmet references came from a museum in Dijon (France)

Rinaldo you dark horse mate... this is some very good sculpting and the detail on the armour is just fantastic, i think this even surpasses your armchair General.

Really impressive work mate,

All the best,

Steve

Hi David, thanks alot for your positive comment...Steve, nice to read you, thanks for such a compliment..Glad this sculpture meet positive comments as it drove me crazy with all that damn detailed armor...Have to say I'm not really satysfied about the helmet leafy branch...this detail should have be done thinner than the ones I did..
Ciao

Hi all mates...for those who are interested in ancient roman stuff I had on good authority the reference that wearing such a ceremonial armor they also used to have a knotted sash around the waist...so I added this detail.I'd changed the gladius blade too as it was wrong.By the way I'm still working on it..
ciao
