Hola Guys!

I don't really know why I started this one as I seam to have a lot of projects going on at the moment. I just couldnt resist the oppertunity to paint another face, I am really starting to like doing faces, which is a good thing I suppose.

Here are the eyes painted, and like always they are blue...I just love painting blue eyes as they have a really nice effect and I never got any good results with any other color.

I first primed the bust in white, then I gave the eyes a few washes of a very light red/flesh color mix, then I painted the upper eye lids with Cav. Brown and Black, and the lower lids with same mixture, just a whole lot more dilluted and a tad more Cav. Brown. Then the base for the iris was painted with a mix of Andrea Preussian Blue, Andrea Napoleonic Blue and black. Then these dots were filled in with Preussian Blue and Nappy Blue, and after that several more shades of the same mix but with white added was painted inside this. The pupils were dotted in with pure black and catch lights painted in with pure white. And to finish off the stoner look I added a couple of drops of Future Floor Wax on the eyes, something I usually never do.

The fellas right eye is a little darker then the left, but it catches less light then the left one and my other excuse is that all people dont have excactly the same shade in both eyes It is however a tad lighter then it shows in the pictures.

hey anders,

Great job with the eyes. It has bloodshot effect, perfect for someone who's stoned.

Can't wait to see the rest of the face.

regards

Thanks everybody for your nice comments!

Thomas,

The eye was was washed probably 3-5 times with very dilluted mix of Vallejo Red and Citadel Elf Flesh ( A very light warm pinkish flesh tone). Then the eyeball was highlighted with the same mix + white. You can see what color it was by looking below the guys left eye, the light pinkish tone is what I used on the eyeballs.

Joe,

Does your copy have quite a few airbubbles? I found a lot of them after priming the bust, and it looked like there were even more under the surface. Not what you would expect from a $54 figure (although I only paid $9.99 ). Looking forward to see your version of him!

Very nicely done. Even better than the eyes on the Pirate bust you did earlier.

Superb Anders,

looks like he has been smoking something, or eating some mushrooms...

Excellent, can't wait to see your progress.

Thanks Guys :)

Gino,

He is supposed to be a little high

Jason,

Thanks, you are correct, I used Citadel's white primer, not my first choice but it was handy. I dont remember excactly how long I let it dry before, but usually I just spray the piece and then start painting as soon as it is dry to the touch.

Great job,Anders ; it really scares the daylights out of me just by looking at it,that's how real it looks ! Keep up the good work and post more soon.Cheers !
