There is some corroboration to this story as Roman Guards on Trajans Column appear to have staffs which resemble hockey sticks.......:rolleyes:

That sword Roman? Hmm, looks more Celtic type with that hilt, and being bronze ? Just going on what I've seen in the British Museum. Very often chucked into water as a votive offering to the gods. How it came to be in Novia Scotia is anyone's guess. A bit like a couple of Native American tribes that reputedly spoke some phrases of Welsh.:rolleyes::sneaky: An enigma wrapped in a riddle surrounded by mystery.

Yeah, we were debating this over at Treefrog, too. I'm very skeptical that the Romans ever made it to the Americas. Their historians documented a lot, though much has been lost. But I don't think they even knew about the Azores, did they? Someone suggested a Roman ship could have gotten blown off course, but I think they were more likely to have sunk long before they ever got across the Atlantic.
