H Planeters,

I was curious to hear if anyone had recent experience with mounting and painting 75mm Scale 75 figure.
I was attarcted by this figure:
https://scale75.com/en/miniatures-scale-the-napoleonic-wars/688-battle-of-berezina-1812.html

But then I remember I bought their samurai in the early days in White metal and the assembling was a nightmare. So I was thinking maybe their improved their engineering. or maybe not.
Thanks for your feedback

Hi Julien.

I have their 'Gannicus' gladiator and Waterloo era British Army drummer boy in 75 mm (metal and resin respectively I think) and the castings and QC are as good as anything. Just about (all) companies produce a 'turkey' in their range at some stage (especially when they are in their infancy and developing their skills) and so, don't let one bad experience put you off the entire range or company.

My (limited) experience of the S75 the range is very mixed: The "Nobanuga Warrior" samurai was an absolute nightmare (to the point that I gave up and binned it), the "Banzai" Japanese officer was an awful cast with important detail missing so I binned that one as well, but the "Lt. Winters" US paratrooper went together as well as any metal figure that I've ever done and was a joy to paint.

I have a couple more S75s in the stash that I haven't started yet, but they seem fine as far as I've been able to tell (decent detail, good dry test fit of the main parts). Unfortunately the Berezina figure isn't one of them, so I can't comment on that one specifically.

I think it's a case of "you pays your money and you takes your chance".
