Hi kaz

I think the original kit came from tank in russia. They did some nice 1/16 scale stuff. Not sure if they still about so this one may be a knock off.

It also is probably not ww1 authentic but ww2

Hope this helps

Stuart

Thanks everybody for quick replies.

Yes I can see it may be a knock off.
No info on manufacturer, just put famous brand name such as Tamiya, Alpine, etc I can see it's for searching.

I know Jon Smith has some great equipments but I want Heavy set of MG 08 and that's exactly what I'm lookin' for, so I want to know the original manufacturer.

"Maybe a knock off"?.......each item is labelled as "Pegaso Andrea:" regardless of what it is.......
I cannot believe this stunning move by someone who is a moderator on this forum.

Considering the dust hasn't even settled on the awfully confrontational and abusive threads we've just suffered on ebay recasters,...links to more bloody obvious recasters have been posted by a Super Moderator...........WTF:confused::meh:

OK, Mark, I'm sorry I apologise for everything if I did a wrong post. I may behaved hastily and too careless.

If you think I did what I should not do as a Super Moderator and I'm not fit to be it, I'm OK to quit Super Moderator.

I just wanted to know about the item I posted.

Hi kaz

I think it was made by Tank....they did all those 1/35th scale figures...i think they also did this and some other gear in 1/16.

See my earlier post

Stuart

Hi Stuart, thanks for the comment.
And....yes I have read your previous post of course, and I've been searching for the 1/16 items but I haven't found any of them yet on web.

Anyway.... I may made a BIG MISTAKE posting a link to recaster. I should close this conversation.

But I have a question.

Even talking about suspicious link should not be allowed here? but how can we specify them without link? Without link we cannot talk about it. Trying to act as if it's not exist is not a solution, I think.

Shame I cannot find farther information about the item.

Oh come off it with the 'high and mighty' attitude Mark......you never miss an opportunity do you!
There was no intent by Kaz...other than a genuine query regarding a piece he was genuinely seeking to clarify.
As for 'every item is labelled Pegaso, Andrea, regardless of what it is'....I personally took that to mean ' in the vein of '....as they are all labelled the same!
We are not all experts on what is and isn't a counterfeit/recast or rip off.
It was grossly unfair of you to attack Kaz in such a manner, when myself and Stu are as much to blame for suggesting these may possibly be 'rip offs' to the rest of the forum.

Kaz

I am not sure tank are still in existence.

I remember looking at these a few tears back and thinking i should get a set.

This is why you cant find them !!!

I see your problem kaz...i suppose found this pic on a doggy recaster ebay listing ....does anybody know who makes it would be the way around not posting a link.

Somebody always knows something about a product.

Not to worry and good luck in your search

Stuart

In all honesty if you look on EBay there is a load of kits marked as Hinchcliffe/Poste Militaire/Stadden a lot of the time it's people who have no clue who manufactured it so stick that in as it'll hit on a search. This whole thing is getting out of hand at this rate nobody will post anything about anything in case the outrage bus pulls up and people start creating a huge fuss over nothing. Starting to wonder i9f Keith had the right idea

Honestly I am shocked seeing this and other threads develop. I got this kit and yes there were three different models released by Tank. If you are looking for one of these Kaz, let me know through PM and I will check if the dealer over here in Germany still stocks them. And just to cut off any emotional posts: My kit is a genuine Tank model!
In general I would suggest if members and mods notice that they are getting emotionally involved to simply take a break before touching the keyboard.

Cheers, Martin

Well after some research I found out that TANK produced three 1/16 models of the Russian Maxim M.G (versions 1910 - 1910/30 - 1910/41). That is at last the model I own - no information about MG 08`s.
So maybe we all should not be too quick with assumptions about products on the market and about fellow modellers like Kaz.

Cheers, Martin

Thanks everybody for helping me a lot.

So, What I found on eBay is a re-caster's "1/16 MG 08" with no original manufacturer. That's a mystery.

I must admit I didn't read "POLL thread" before I start this thread. so I'm sorry if this thread make somebody uncomfortable.
(I've just read the thread. I wasn't doing a mod job good.)

but how can we identify or discuss the item without posting link when we only found pics on eBay re-caster's page and nobody knows its original manufacturer?
I mean, "exception always exists even when we all think the rule is perfect". 'cause we are not perfect.
