I have modified a white metal figure with Milliput. I don't like the modification.:( Is there anything that will soften the putty to make it easier to remove? Mechanical attempts are damaging the metal.
Cheers
Bill

I've had some success by drilling holes in it then gradually prising it off. I you can get under the surface all the better.

I wish you luck. Do let us know how you get on.

Thanks all, it's off :)
Tried boiling without success. Acetone got most of it off, used with fine wire wool. This left a small reside which did come off with further boiling, Perhaps I didn't boil for long enough first time. Didn't have any Dettol so didn't try that and I don't know what C4 is. I didn't try drilling as the Milliput was a very thin layer.
I had used standard and superfine and the superfine was much harder to remove.

Boil it longer and should take care of it. All epoxy should comes apart. I did it before.

If on metal, brush nitro paint stripper over the milliput, the milliput will crumble off. If you want to soak and providing it's all metal will be fine. Nitro hates milliput as I have found by needing to resculpt numerous bits once stripped over the years.hope that helps mate, any paint stripper works. They have got weaker over the years due to H&S but the milliput will eventually fall off clean or just breakdown, soak, wash, resoak and repeat. You can get a fig back to new
