I'm very happy to announce the APG annual membership is now underway.
This year we are combining the drive with a fundraiser to conserve 4 swords and a naval dirk currently in the care of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia http://www.usmcmuseum.org/ The fundraiser is titled The Semper Fidelis Project These blades once belonged to 4 of the most famous Marines of the 19th century. The pieces are scheduled to be put on permanent exhibit in the newest gallery opening in the summer of 2010.
Each new member or member renewing will receive a chance in a drawing for a print, signed and remarqued, by historical artist and retired Marine Donna Neary. The print depicts the Marines famous landing on Iwo Jima in 1945. A second place prize is a free night at the Wyndham during our show in Gettysburg July 16-18 2010. In addition we will be selling tickets for the raffle for anyone chosing not to become a member or renewing.Visit our website for more information on the artifacts being conserved and the membership drive. artistpreservationgroup.com
I should also announce that Dee Moore from the Atlanta Club is now our Membership Coordinator. Dee has very graciously offered to take on the myriad of tasks associated with the records and management of oue membership. Thanks Dee.
Our DVD's from the 2009 Gettysburg Show will be available at the MMSI Show. If you will not be attending the show they will be available for shipping immediately after that. You can order them direct from Mike Stelzel at [email protected] Price is $14.95 shipping included. The price at the show will be only $12. All profits go to our fundraising efforts. Thanks to Bob Sarnowski for the excellent photos and all his hard working in creating the DVD.
Our webmaster Paul Kelly is now updating the site and we should soon have more info on the 2009 show available there.
