hello this is surely an wonderfull piece of sculpture
alas ist historically incorrect.there where never muscled cuirasses in leather.nor in white nor in brown.
i am an avid reader of the books of Marcus Junkelmann.i think one can say this man is an authority in roman military dress.
they tried out boiled leather cuirasses in reenactment.those where totally inproper to use.
because only high ranking officers or the roman emperor itself wore those pieces one can asume that the would have never accepted the shabby dull leather look of an with wax poiled and pressed armour.here the romans where after an higly slivery and golden shimmering look.this alone because in the time of roman emperors this items was completly obsolete and was used only in ceremonical use.so i do not think that an vain roman emperor would have accepted such an item in leather.
i think this look with leather helmets and body armour did spread since the movies like Ben Hur ect appeared.
i hope nobody thinkin i want lower somebodys work.i think only that painting of figures should try to follow historicall facts.no one would paint pot helmet of an knight of 13oo in an leather colour.
its looking fine but one should in any case the armour paint in silver and golds.
the sculpt is great in any way.
