"Armata Models" is the next Russian company that I have to include in our news section!

So far, the company has made plastic models and accessories - now they bring the following bust as a first figure ...:

Title: "Maestro", Major Alexey Titarenko
Scale: 1:10
Resin
Sculptor/Boxart: N.N.
Number: AM1001
Price: 1,500 руб (= rubles, that is 21,55 €), plus shipping

The bust do not represent a real character, but the protagonist of a fairly well-known (and highly popular) Soviet Union war film from 1973 entitled "Only Old Men Go to Battle" ...:

The main character of the film is the captain (later Major) Alexey Titarenko ...

... called "Maestro" by his comrades, as well because of his flying skills (and also because he heads the regimental orchestra).

The film begins in 1943 and ends in 1944 with the liberation of the territory of the Soviet Union.

Shown is the everyday life of fighter pilots of a flying regiment of the Red Army. Some events - such as the flight with a captured German Messerschmitt fighter - based on the experiences of the real fighter pilot (and two-time Hero of the Soviet Union) Vitaly Popkow (1922 - 2010) ...:

The title of the film is based on a Russian saying that most newcomers to the regiment will die before the battle begins.

The main role of "Major Titarenko" is played by the actor Leonid Bykov (1928 - 1979) - the bust is sculpted on him.
