Couple of nice ACW figures arrived today very well sculpted and cast but just one slight dislike
The box art shows the figures with spurs but none evident on the model also no buckles for the sword slings.
Pity these important parts don't come with the kit

I agree the Pegaso latest release of the knight is a case in point.
Steve

which one is that Steve
I bought a kit the other day and was surprised to find no base. I've been told it is quite common now and it wasn't a problem. But if the artwork doesn't represent what is in the box then it should say so.

Keith

A base is one thing as most modellers these days don't use them and do their own thing .
Having started the cleaning up of these two ; one has some straps missing on the casting so may return it which is a pain in the ass .

Maybe just maybe the day of the metal figure is past , apart from Metal models as no-one can come close to Bruno's quality

I think manufacturers should include a picture of the bare metal/resin with their announcements and ads. Many do this as last picture in the series and I appreciate that because that way there can be no confusion.

A couple more that don't do what it says on the tin.

You get the figure only, plus a boring flat bit of a base. None of the sexy backdrop & groundwork.

The other thing is ,Im not quite sure of the scale but suspect around 50mm
then again Im judging them against Metal models which I know can be a bit bigger than 54mm
with certain productions

The union officer is particularly nice and well cast , but missing spurs and belt buckles which are evident in the box art ( so what happened there )

Steve I wouldn't expect to get the arch with the Grandmaster kit but you are right it should only show what you get in the box :)

I have no objection to not having a base, arch whatever as long as the box states scenery/base not included.

Compare the alexandria kit of the hussar which comes with hussar, balustrade and the cat...lol.

All l suggest is a requirement to state exactly what is in the offer.....simples...

Yeah that's fair enough Keith and I concur. But on the Toison Latorre figure there is no such indication given, and in the case of the Andrea piece it's stated only on the back of the box, which I think is a bit cheeky (it caught me out anyway LOL!)

Christ guys I only had a couple of missing buckles :D

While we're at it . what about the little strip of foil you get to make the sword slings or reins .
Little being the operative word , this suff must be more precious than gold.
For starters you are not going to get a straight cut with scissors , alternative ; if its wide enough which it isn't you could tape it down and cut with a knife MM used to give such a strip but now its only 10mm wide and almost impossible to cut to size as per AG .

Somewhere there must be a better alternative .

I only ever bought 2 Art Gerona figures , both ACW figures . I was so disappointed with them I sold them of for less than Half price . Ron why not try Shenandoah for ACW figures they make the best range
chippy
