Kev,
The drummer boy figure is made by Art Studio Russian Painter.
Have you visited the Art Studio Russian Painter Website where you can see many interesting figures and dioramas?

Extremely well painted Peter.
Now, if you please can you explain how you painted the drum, in other words, maybe an SBS on painting that.

Marc
Marc,
Thanks, I like the figure a lot too.
Please define more precisely what do you mean when you say "SBS"?
peter

thanks Roc,

Yes, Kev, i really wouldt like to see an step by step article how to paint all this little things on the drum. As most of the Russian painters make's the beautiest things on flags, clothing etc.
I think what you have done on the drum is a start for learning to paint all thes little paintings on a small subject.

Marc,
The best way to study in detail methods of the painting that you like is to have specimen of the painted figure in your hands, is not it?
You can order the painted drummer using part “Conact” at the Site: http://rus-painter.awardspace.com/ .

Thanks for sharing the technique, Pete!

I think the heading of your post should be "Please send money....Now"

Welcome to the world!

We had another member that when asked about his technique, told us we would have to buy his book - and that is not what this forum is about.

Now we see a member who says"buy my figure" - again, not what this forum is about. Pete should reconsider posting his work here if he is unwilling to share his techniques.

PF is all about figure painting and the ability to ask a question about a figure / technique and learn from the poster.

Amen, Guy. We have no shortage of folk on this and other sites who do commssions work as well as those who, more importantly, make their living in the hobby (Michael Roberts, UEM, Alpine, etc) . Rarely, have I seen a situation when one of these individuals was unwilling to share their 'secrets'. Case in point, Calvin, Jaume and Daniel have frequently answered our questions on 'how did you do that' and yet I promptly went out and bought their Osprey books, even though I am an oil painter at heart :)

I have heard of these St. Petersburg painters before, and have seen some of their work up close. It's stunning! But you can all forget about getting the secret out of Russia. My understanding is that the producers keep their techniques a very closely guarded secret, in the fine tradition of the old European tradesman guilds of the Middle Ages. You might have better luck getting nuclear secrets out of Russia than you will with a SBS on this style of painting. Still, it doesn't hurt to ask does it, and I certainly agree with Guy that this is exactly what the planet is all about.

So all one of us has to do is go to Russia, learn the art of figure painting from one of the masters, and escape back to the west with the treasured information. Wait a minute, I think I just wrote the plot for the next James Bond movie!
