Hi guys,
some pics of my latest piece, depicting an askari, KAR, 1914. Scale is 1/9, painted in enamels.
I have a small number of these kits available for £37, post free UK, please PM me here if interested, Paypal accepted.
Kits include alternative headgear/belt buckle to allow a Fellah of the Sudanese army, 1897, to be produced, if desired.
Thanks for looking,
Steve(y)

Hi Steve,
Excellent bust and something a little bit different, very nice to have the two alternative options. Great face - nice sculpting and and painting all round. Hope you do well with this and look forward to seeing your future releases.
cheers

Ken, Marc, Steve, Dan, Steve - many thanks for taking the time to comment. I will have it with me at Crewe, so you can see it in the flesh, so to speak!!
thanks again for looking,

Steve ,

This looks a really nice subject , based as you said before on the Osprey illustrations I think .

Great smile on that face and a good chance to practice the skin tones ...how did you paint this version?

Good to have the different version option of the Sudenese Army

Wish I was at Crewe

Thanks for posting

Rob, many thanks, look forward to meeting up at Crewe
Kev, thanks for the comments. As you know, Im an enamels man, so all colours are Humbrol. The skin basecoat is matt 98, shaded with matt 33, and highlighted with matt 64 blended wet. The whites of the eyes are matt 121, with a touch of red at the tearducts. Iris, gloss 10, lightened with a touch of matt 93, with gloss 10 darkened with a touch of matt 33 to add a slight outline on the outer edge and the pupils. Teeth again, matt 121, with the inside of the mouth satin 133 mixed with matt 64. Sounds complex, but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly it all came together!
thanks again,
Steve(y)
