Hi Guys,I have recently started work on this figure of a Australian Bren Gunner. It is a resin 120mm figure released thru OZMODS in Australia. http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/ozmodsscales/Military.html.The figure has been sculpted superbly by Phil Walden. The figure comes with choice of two different heads. Both heads have heaps of character.I have chosen the younger face with the tin helmet. The detail on the figure is great with a very nice Bren Gun.Hope you like him so far, just a little bit of clean up and he will be ready for painting.I will post progress shots of the painting.

Regards,John:)

G'day John,

I can't wait to see you give this superb figure the "Belcher Treatment".

I'll be paying close attention to how you paint this guy.

Time to get those brushes wet mate!!

Lovely figure this. Brings thoughts of what fighting in the Pacific must have been like. Think I would use the "older" head though.
Great figure, really like it and look forward to seeing it painted.

Don

Hello Tony, many thanks for your comments.Hope to post some pictures in the next few days on some of the painting.

Hello Don,many thanks for your comments. The idea that Phil has with two different heads is a good one for the very reason you have pointed out, personal preference.

Regards,john:)

Hi John,

Looking forward to seeing how you approach this guy, I like Phil's naturalness in his sculpting and hoping I can see this in September when we meet in Wellington.

There does look like a bit of tidying up on the casting, any areas you feel you may need to rework or is it just some putting filling?

Keep us posted, this is one I'll be following.

Mike

Phil......

Yep, character is coming through!

Always good to see superb sculpting and superb paiting coming together.

Could easily see this fellow in a vignette, he could easily tell a story of seemingly endless marching across endless sand in the back and forth war that seemed charateristic of the desert campaign.

Cheers

Just passing through after some time away and I see this admirable sculpt.
Don´t know how folks can resist buying 2 of these and doing one with each head - they both have bags of personality!
Mr Belcher´s painting on the face really has added life to the piece and I´ll keep coming back now to see how things look when they´re finished.
It will be interesting to see how the base and landscaping are done.

Spike.
