Thanks John for the heads up. :)

Another gritty depiction of a real character Phil, any further background you can give us on Dingo?

Kind regards,

Mike

P.S. Love the bren & natural positioning of it.

I don´t do WW2, but I find the character packed into Phil Walden´s big sculpts almost irresistible.
Love the weight of the bren gun, the sag of damp clothing and the lived-in faces.

Spike.

I was one of the very lucky ones who bought this figure when it was first released many years ago. It certainly remains one of my favourite figures and I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do something different and quite unique. The figure comes with a choice of headgear (beret or slouch hat) and provides plenty of scope for extreme weathering.

hello to all,..
John many thanks for posting up Dingo, mate l like the sepia picture,..the layout of the text made me smile to myself,.. brought things back......!
Mike, all's well l hope,.. Mike, Geoff Barnes' relates the story that inspired him to do Dingo Harris in the 3rd of October issue of Military Modelling 2008.
l'm sure Geoff wont mind if l quote a few lines....
A Dingo is a wild Australian dog.It is tough, hardy and wary. It will hunt alone or with a small pack of it fellows. Dingoes can only be domesticated with great difficulty and will lose their ability to howl in the wild, their lonely, eerie cry chills the blood of anyone out their there who might be their potential prey..All in all that sums up rather well Private Dingo Harris of the Australian Independent Commando....
Cheers Spike,Tony, allways your thoughts are appreciated..Phil..:)

Thanks Phil for the update & have been fortunate enough to pick up a copy of the article which I forwarded to John. Will have to clear my schedule & do one of your figure mate, darn shame that WW1 Lewis Gunner ain't available any more. You had talked about giving one of your desert chaps a Lewis gun, any chance you may consider this on a future project?

Regards,

Mike

Yes my favourity was Phils Corporal Arlow of his produced pieces - mind you Phils originals a even better
Ian

dingo harris

Morning Mike,..
thanks mate for the good thoughts...One of the things l do enjoy is how different folk end up depicting their version of the same figure, eg. red say and the many different reds they come up with..love to see you paint one of our subjects...
The Lewis Gun,...that is with our next early North Africa WW2 subject, two weapons one covered against sand and wind etc., the other uncovered ready to go..
The world war one Lewis Gunner is still one of my personal favorites but l've never got around to painting one,??..along with Private John Arlow who Ian spoke of and whom l did paint and loved every second of it....

phil...:)

I tried to buy this figure this weekend and couldn´t get through to Ozmod´s site which kept coming up as a broken link.
Can anyone help me get in touch with them?

Spike.
