The brand is known for stunning fit, quality of cast..but it’s awkwardly posed. They always look a bit stiff, and toysoldier posed..everyone will rave, but I’ve had numerous and the animation could be improved

I have found no fault with these figures, I have painted quite a few and are pleasing when painted up. If you don't like them you have a choice.....
As for raving over them, why not.

I figured I’d be slammed. But I have several so felt I had some reason to offer an observation. If they are so perfect as to have no room to improve then what do I know..I guess it’s just a fan club

No, it's not a fan club. I paint what I find pleasing to the eye. I've painted figures from Troop54, Pegaso, Metal Models,DF Grieve, etc etc. No fan club needed.

Bob, the company started doing arms and equipment for other brands, then their 28mm and finally scaled up..I bought several and quite liked them, but always found the poses slightly static ala war gaming pieces, or toy soldiers vs something more animated and emotive..I don’t have to buy it as you say, but might if they had more going on..other makers are catching up and even moving ahead..but it’s always a work in progress...Scientific specializes in printed pieces..and has some incredibly tiny bits..but also soft, fragile resin..it’s only by offering up comments, trying them out, that things advance athe guy behind avanpost is genuine and most wonderful to deal with.

Nice tidy piece, of an undoubtedly popular subject. As to the pose, it works for me. Most soldiers spend a great percentage of their waking time standing about and comparative moments hacking pieces off each other.

You are of course entitled to an opinion but personally, this has the 'air' of a Metal Models Napoleonic figure simply scaled up to 75mm and were it a MM fig in 54mm, it would, quite rightly, be applauded. I think this style of formal pose compliments this particular genre (Naps) much better than 'action' 'walking' or 'pointing' poses etc. Having many of their 75mm's in my Grey Army, I also know that these AP kits click together like Tamiya plastic model kits and having about 10 in total, I have never found a poor fitting, missing or defective part; such is the fabulous casting and quality control of this range.

I love them and will be getting this one too but as you say..each to their own.

Stunning figure and beautifully cast. I don't have any problem with the pose at all. Looks quite normal to me. I take the point about the 28mm figures being posed for wargaming, which is what they are intended for, but the 75mm range are in a different class. Bring on more of them I say.

Thank you all, dear friends! No need to argue too much, it isn't a battlefield, but hobby, that should be pleasure to everyone.

Mr. Grasshopper, your post about our history is not correct, but it doesn't matter too much. We do love natural static poses more than false dynamics (that doesn't mean we can't do an action pose at all :) ). But the main point - tastes differs, and you never could do a figure, which will be loved by everyone, without an exception. Tastes differs.

Merry Christmas to all of you and happy New Year!

And we have huge plans for 2021, so watch the news ;)

Hi Everyone

This thread is a company showing a release , we are all entitled to opinion but as Avanpost quite rightly say this is a hobby so if you want to buy it do so and enjoy the benchtime

Looking at the detaiks , looks good as with previous so plenty to get painting

I like the static pose works IMO , horse looks good

....and I only paint busts ! ...look forward to seeing painted versions

Happy benchtime
