My third Ax Faction figure and, again, what a beauty it is.

This figure in with it's vignette base is superb. It comes in five light grey resin parts with the arms holding a vicious looking axe, the axe handle having the hands moulded to it. Torso and head and the lower body and legs as a separate parts. A small bow/knot which attaches on his right hip and a superbly animated upward swirling cape. The base consists of a deep concave cliff face on top of which the figure crouches, the cape echoing the shape of the base very nicely. At the bottom of the cliff lies the remains of his latest Zombie victim, a lovely moulded little piece in its own right with good facial details and a few exposed ribs.

As with all their figures, you get a quality printed art card of the subject, a nice touch.

Assembled, this scene is an impressive 60mm total height and very dramatic in appearance.

The artwork from the Ax Faction website is very nicely painted in an almost monochromatic, moonlit scheme which fits the subject perfectly, dark and brooding. The very nicely posed crouching figure with his beard and long hair is not your usual muscle bound barbarian. This guy looks as though he has been around a while and seen some things he would rather forget, if he were only able to!

I will leave you with my pictures of the figure parts which have had a light clean up and loosely tacked together for the pictures. The fit looks good with the waist line join needing some preparation as this figure would probably be best painted before joining the upper and lower body parts so get that fit right before you start.

Ax Faction can be found at www.axfaction.com/ and will be present at Figure World 2014. My thanks go to Paul for supplying this figure.

When I saw the original picture (it was about 2009) I liked the atmosphere of it. Hope your version will be the same.
Cheers

Lol, I would have no idea where to start but I do have my thinking head on. Really like the mono feel to it. Thanks for looking Martin.
