Hi all,
I am after a fairly largish diorama base, and as I can no longer make these myself [lack of space for tools :( ], I am looking to have one made.
I am after something for my Rorkes Drift project, and it needs to be 600mmx600mm atleast...
So can anyone point me in the right direction?, they would need to be in the UK too.

Cheers

Jon

Try Chippy at Base2B I know he's done quite a few large one off bases for several Pf members. Send him a PM or if you're going to Telford this weekend he's got a table there.

Cheers Ken

Jon, whenever I've needed a custom sized base I've contacted my local woodturners club. The members are more than happy to make any quality piece I want for a reasonable price.
They generally keep an amazing collection of timber off cuts from all over the world as well, so I can choose from a wide variety of colours and grains.
There are woodturners clubs in most towns over here, I imagine it's much the same in the UK.

Having had a large diorama base custom made by Chippy, I can thoroughly recommend his bases and service. You will not find better.

Recently I have been sing Ron Tambourint as he makes some beautiful bases at very reasonable prices,
I am sure he will do large ines for you.
As he is a member you can give him a PM on here.

Hi Jon,
I have just purchased a base off Chippy today at Telford, I know he has produced some large bases for other members with fantastic feedback. I can also confirm his range and quality are excellent, you will not be dissapointed. Send him a PM.
cheers
Richie
P.S. Looking forward to seeing you Rorke's Drift project.(y)

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.
Ron sent me PM so I am going to be spoilt for choice too be honest.
Richie, I went with the Warlord Games 28mm stuff in the end, as well for the price of a single box of figures [£20+£2 postage direct] and then finding all sorts of places selling them for a lot cheaper, I decided it's the best option overall.Plus the plastic figures rival most of the resin stuff I have in 1/35th[yes seriously, they are that cleanly sculpted/molded].
For £48 a box for a starter army from Warlord, I can get 60 of the defenders, seeing as there was less then 150 at Rorke's Drift...I can pretty much model them all....
Thanks for the help guys
Jon
