Today, 15th September is the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. seeing the veterans of that battle, the words of Shakespeare best apply
Old men forget, yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What deeds he did that day.
Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered.................

We can never repay them for what they did, but on this 75th anniversary, we can remember them with gratitude.

RESPECT to all that flew in the Battle of Britain , we thank you all .

Saw the TV programme ..what a sight seeing them fly ..so iconic and so moving to watch

Well done to Prince Harry for giving his place up to a veteran after his plane developed problems

I often walk past this memorial, I always ask myself what is he doing what is he thinking.
The best I can come up with is that he is looking out over the Channel, looking for his mates to come back.

I took this at Euro a few years back when they arranged the fly past.
Always a thing of beauty to see, but I can't imagine what it would have been like for the Pilots during the Battle of Britain.

We owe them so much, they will never ever be forgotten.

Amen to all.
I lived through the blitz and went to school. We used to come out of the air raid shelter in the back yard, (when we used it), and look for the spit contrails to see if we could work out what happened up there in the wide blue yonder after the battle.
Cheers
John
