Well, i don't like paint napoleonics, and don't do it. The exception to the norm are scottish. I don't know why, but i like them. Maybe the short skirt :D? Here is a classic from Andrea Miniatures of 54mm. It's my third kilt. The sculpt and cast are very goods, and it's a delicious to paint.
Painted with acrilics, less white leathers that are in oils.

There's something about 54mm that just calls to me (mine usually end up getting stripped a couple of times before I'm happy with them)
I've not seen this figure before and you've made a nice job of him :)

In my country is a classic. Maybe it is 15 years old.
Great job, shame you don't like Napoleonics as I would like to see more of your work in that period. This one looks very fine. Your paint job has made me interested in finding this figure.
Cheers
Mat
If you buy it gonna some hours of fun with it. The cast is in metal, and very good. The only thing i didn't like was the fine lines of the tartan, the yellow ones, were marked in the kilt. Some putty to cover them. I imagine that the brand thought that was easier for painter in that way
very nice work, if I had to needpicking something: the blue is to bright.

Marc
Thanks for the note. Noted for the next ;)

Please don't take this as anything but an attempt to help

If you can take the time, a few dark washes of green/black could tone it down,

It really is far too bright.

Apart from the kilt this is a lovely figure. Well done

Paul

I'm here to lear of your painting, comments and my mistakes.
To modificate gonna be difficult with the rifle and the arms in front of the skirt.
