Given that the range is intended to be uniform studies I do not mind the static poses. This is one of my fave periods so I will most lkely add these to the GA at some point.

Hi Jose,
Two very nice additions and great to see the Colonial forces represented. Glad someone is producing figures like this, considering the amount of different units raised to fight the Zulu's, there is certainly scope for others. These will compliment your other 1879 Zulu war figures of the 24th Officer and Sergeant.

I may have to try and step down in scale:eek::(

What's next Newcastles Mounted Rifles, Natal Mounted Police, Piet Uys Commando, Natal Carbineers????????

I don't remember seeing a version of the Frontier Light Horse jacket with olivets and loops on before! May need to go back through my library.

The only other thing I would say is also post a photo of the back(y)
cheers
Richie

Thank you posting these Jose they look great and will be added to the GA. Richie these look as though they are based on illustrations by R Ruggeri from Ian Castle's Zulu War Volunteers and Irregulars, Osprey Men at Arms no 388. I can bring a copy to the next club meeting if you want mate. It is a good thing for my wallet that Steve won't be there otherwise these would be snapped up. I can see your grass coming into use with these.
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I have that one mate, the tunic is painted in the colours of a trooper of the Frontier Light Horse but has the detail of an officer's patrol jacket! If you look at the illustration below you will see a trooper. I will need to try and find a period photo to see if it is accurate or artistic license, this one is from the South African Military forum.
cheers
Richie

The Zulu War figures from this range are all very nice, but is there a reason why they aren't available as single figures?
