This is one of the latest offerings from Beneito Miniatures, NATAL CARABINEER OFFICER, ZULU WAR, 1879.

1.jpg

All parts are supplied in a well protected foam lined box with some nice coloured box art to use as a reference.

2.jpg

The kit consists of 12 white metal parts. The scale of the figure is 70mm. Close inspection of te parts show a good level of detail and casting with minimal clean up.

3.jpg

A close up of the head shows a nice expression on the face of the character.

4.jpg

The legs, upper torso and arms are cast in one piece.

5.jpg

Here we can take a close look at the detail in the jacket

6.jpg

The reverse of the figure shows the arms and location points for the hands and other pieces of equipment.

7.jpg

Test fitting of the head shows a perfect fit, we can see the nicely detailed head from different angles.

8.jpg

A close up of the helmet shows good detail with only a small mould line to remove.

9.jpg

We can now see the top part of the figure coming together very nicely.

10.jpg

The sword and straps can easily be removed from the spru, they locate at points on the left hand side of the body.

11.jpg

Gun holster, pouch and hands cam be remove easily, minimal clean up of the parts.

Conclusion:
Another very nice release from Beneito in a very popular scale of 70mm. All parts are nicely cast and there is only a minimal amount of cleaning of each part. A very interesting period in history and highly recommended to anyone who is interested in this erea.

Nice review as usual. Yet, rendition of details and casting quality are not at the level of Pegaso, Elite, Art Girona or Métal Modèles.

Nevertheless, a nice release on a fairly original subject.
