This is the latest release from Beneito Miniature’s, sculpted by Jose Hidalgo. It features a two figures set of an Officer and sergeant, 24th regiment, Zulu War 1879. The figures are 54mm in scale and all ten parts are cast in white metal.

All parts are contained in a foam linned box. A close inspection of the parts shows a good level of casting and detail that we come to expect with this company. There is the minimal amount of hairline mould seams to remove as is expected with all white metal kits. There is some very colour box art of both figures on the front of the box which can be used as a painting guide, there was no painting colour guide included in my review sample but this is no real issue with all the wealth of information available on the internet.

I have shown below the layout of the parts of both figures from different angles as well as the smaller parts and foil strip.

Conclusion: Another fine release from this long established company. Great idea having the two matching figures in the set. Casting and detail are clean and sharp. I am sure this will prove to be a very popular set. Highly recommended.

A well sculpted pair of figures. The quality of the casting seems to leave a little to be desired.

Two nice looking figures based on the box art. For me a pity they are not in a larger scale. I have to side with Mike on the casting quality!
Your right Jon would do very nicely as K.R.R.C. with a few bits of conversion.
cheers

Dont forget Mike that the pictures you are seeing are scaled up from 54mm. If I posted them showing at only 54mm on the screen then they would look different again.

Cheers
