Hi,
Next up is the Lancier de Berg from Sovereign 2000 in 54mm, at the other end of the scale to the Dutch Lancer.
Difficult one to research as there are so many contradictions in evidence as to what they wore.
The Amaranth colour is as close as could get, although I've faded it a bit. Not sure the NMM silver lace works 100%. Also incorrect turnbacks for a kurtka
Thanks
Melanie

Hi Melanie

All credit to you , a very difficult colour to get right , like you say contradictions everywhere

Nice figure as well think it’s based on a Osprey illustration below

Liking the result on the colour , suits the fact he’s in Spain

Why not have a look at the Comps as well ...link below

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Andrew, thanks for the nice comment and link, fascinating thread.
Nap, thank you. In all my searches that picture does not come up. Not sure which osprey MAA it is from definitely not from the Berg and Westfalia Allies one. It is very close to the figure as you say.
Merryweather, Gary, Don, David, Oda, Mobo and Nigel, thank you so much for your kind comments
Melanie

I agree, sun bleaching of these natural bright colours must have been quite extreme, that on top of all the dust and dirt of campaigning. It would have been amazing to have seen them at the time.
Thank you
Melanie

Yes it would be great to see them as they were in the day, I think they wouldn't be quite as pristine and stylish as we do them. But that aside I'm old enough so I'll take a pass on adding those extra years!

Cheers Simon

Really nice work Melanie, I think you have nailed the details - colours and shading and highlights, really enjoyable to view.

OC.
