Hi guys,

Here's some pics of my latest, a bust of Marshal Berthier by Alexandros. The quality of the sculpt and the level of detail was INCREDIBLE on this kit. It was a bit tedious at times, with all that lace and detail, but I had a lot of fun painting this one. I used acrylics. Thanks for looking!

A joy to see Jason - Masterclass from both sculptor & painting.
Attention to detail, like necktie mentioned by Richard are aspirational for us all.
Thanks for taking time to share.

Fantastic painting of the lace and the transparency of the neck cloth. I have this one in my GGA, but after viewing yours I don't know if I can do it justice. Going to try though.

Exceptional work. The silver embroidery and orders are handled particularly well. How did you do it?

Thanks Richard! The silver lace was painted with a product called Rub n Buff available at big hobby shops in the US. They have various shades of gold and, in this case, "silver." It's designed to be rubbed on as the name implies, but can be thinned with spirits and painted on. I mix it with oils. It gives a much more subdued silver that is good for lace. For the medals, I used acrylic metallic paints.

Lovely job. Lots of character in the face - when looking at the photos its almost as if he has a 'surprised' look. Very lifelike and very well animated.
