Mike Butler asked me to post this announcement for the below "Best Historical Miniature Award". I also support Mike and MedRom forum in this determination of what we feel makes the Best Historical figure.

Every year new releases vy for our attention, the manufacturers and sculptors that present these products for us could probably make an easier living as the world of Historical Miniatures is small and getting smaller by the year. So in an effort to help promote and acknowledge excellence in these endeavours we are launching the first of what we hope will be an annual event acknowledging the patrons of our hobby.

Sculpting and marketing historical figures is as much about getting the research data right as well as creatively capturing in miniature an authentic image of an individual from the pages of history.
So please consider the following criteria when making your nomination\vote:<o></o>

Authenticity:
Which sculptor has best captured an authentic historical figure\bust in terms of historical accuracy and look for the period?
A figure\bust that says Yes! That's what they looked like.​

Artistry:
Which sculptor has best created an evocative miniature that says to you - "Paint me!" ?
Consider styling, pose, anatomy and character the figure\bust conveys to you.<o></o>​

For this event 'Historical' means any event that occurred before 2008.
It does not include fantasy or futuristic subjects. <o></o>​

Why is MedRom Doing this? <o></o>

We believe modellers should support other modellers, all the manufacturers and sculptors involved in Historical Figure Miniatures industry are passionate individuals who seldom get recognised for achieving outstanding performance. This event is therefore intended to help raise the profile of those manufacturers and sculptors who strive for excellence in terms of both authenticity and artistry. <o></o>
It is should also help other modellers make buying choices based on excellence by providing positive reinforcement to those producers who get it right!<o></o>
