Ever had one of those moments when cleaning up a figure or bust before priming when something in you head says ‘best look first’?

Just about to carve off what I thought was a casting line on a FeR bust and I wasn’t sure. Checked the El Greco site for pictures and the line should be there....... few....... :D

Hi Graham

Spill the beans was it the piping around the cap on the captain ? ...

A close call......lol ...lwhstever it !

Happy benchtime

Nooooooo lol. It was a FeR Civil war bust, the 1/16 Merrill’s Horse 2nd Missouri. There is a distinct line runs up the back of the cap but, as I say, quick look at the website pictures of the bust shows it on the box art images so if it is wrong then they got it wrong too :ROFLMAO:

However, the Capt’s hat is a bugger to paint........... but it is nearly finished ;)

I would say it's a seam or piping ?

Look forward to the captain

Having seen a few original kepi's and unless this is a specific regimental pattern. The rear is a seam as per the image
