Hello fellow Planeteers,

Inspired by a study of one of our leading military history professors on the role of one of the largest Belgian training grounds, now known as Leopoldsburg, in the Great War and considering the lack of an abundance of decent German WW1 figures in 75mm scale, I made this small scene based on a lightly converted Martin Hille "Kellerkind" figure of a "Herr Major". The scene represent a Major of Dragoner-Regiment Nr.26 practicing his pistol shooting on one of the shooting ranges in 1917. This regiment passed a quiet second half of 1917 at "Ubungsplatz Beverloo", as the Germans called it, before being engaged on the Western Front. Enjoy!

Good question Marc, but our national colors are reserved for the nameplates of any Belgian soldiers I might make in the future.:) I'm still waiting for a decent 75mm figure or bust of a Belgian soldier, apart from the few Steve Warrilow did!
best regards,
piet
