Hi guys,

Does anyone know if there are any 1/16 (120mm) scale bicycles available from anywhere? Don't mind if its metal or resin (or both!)

Thanks in anticipation!

A man of you talents should be making one.;)
Dan Morton found one for his Poilu.
Sorry I can't be anymore help Steve,

You could do what I do for aerials on my armour.
Plastic sprue heated over small flame wait to soften and pull apart until desired thickness.
Could take time to get them at the right thickness though.
If its an old bike there will be many spokes unlike the minimal spoke patterns on modern bicycles.
Maybe some form if electrical wire but then you've the problem of them being straight enough.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking for you!

Cheers Karl - Ive been thinking that the only convincing way do do the wheels is to actually spoke them as you would a full size one, albeit with glue rather than adjusters. I shall cobble up a jig to try it! (I think training a spider might take too long!)
Thanks for your help, so far!

Steve did you think of drilling into the hub, very fine drill and using fishing line to make the spokes?

Steve, drop Darren (Tommy's war) a PM.
He had some photoetch done for the Douglas spokes,
very reasonable if I remember right.

Now that is a project.
I'm a cyclist and although I don't build wheels I've broken many spokes on old style wheels and had to repair a few and true the wheel back in on a jigg.

So you plan on having a scaled down hub and thread the spoke through the hole in on an angle then glue it to a rim, obviously not a real nipple, unless of course your doing that too.
Wowzer's , I want some close ups.
Should look impressive if u can pull it off.

Carl - will do, sounds like a plan!
Karl - I too am a cyclist, although not as much as I did! Having built full size wheels, I thought I could maybe "miniaturise" the process -I just need wire with sufficient tensile strength - Ill keep you posted, you may hear bad language!

Many thanks for the links, guys - This bike thing came about in a conversation with a mate who is building a 1/16 T 34, who wants it to on a diorama base. I foolishly said it would look good with a mangled bike under the tracks so he asked if I could make one!! I then got to thinking if I had the basics, then it could be adapted for other eras, etc! Well I've got the frame built, so..........!

These are 1/10 and 1/6 but pretty sure you will get the scale or close through the dollhouse or even garden rail stockists, just searched these quickly.
I'm not sure but modelbau may do one as they stock all the 1/16 upgrades.
Just need a bit of a re paint and weathering, especially as a civilian bike would fit your idea
Regards

I'm thinking that you might find something appropriate in a gift shop, or somewhere die-cast collectibles are sold. I know that I've seen reasonably accurate scale model bicycles, though I don't know if they'd work for 1/16.

Hope that helps, prosit!

Many thanks for the info, chaps. Much obliged to you all for taking the time to add to the discussion. Some really good ideas to work with.
