Birchtree Enterprises, is proud to announce that at the upcoming MFCA show, they will have for sale high quality light weight hardwood travel boxes for safe transport of your Miniatures. The boxes are 16" long 9" high and 8" deep, ideally sized for your car or carry-on luggage for air travel. The box's door is completely removable preventing its closing or sliding while handling your miniatures. The 90 square inch sliding removable shelf offers ample room for your Figures and locks in place when the box is closed. The boxes are finished in a clear Krylon coating allowing the woods natural grain to show. ffice:smarttags" />Birchtree Enterprises is also producing some very beautiful bases.

Very nice looking box and bases! I had a box made simaler to this one but used a peg board to slide in and out. I counter sink a 1/4-20 nut into the bottom of the figure base. Then position it on the peg board and thread a 1/4-20 wing bolt through the peg board into the base nut.

It is the same basic idea. Great minds think alike! LOL!!

Instead of tatty plywood or melamine, this looks like a product with some class!
Nice to know one´s models are safe in transit to a show or competition.

Too small for most of my models, though... I use removal boxes.

Spike.

That looks very nice but I have found that a clear plastic box works well and the TSA has never given me any trouble because they can see inside. I have seen friends really get the once over when using a wood box. I also do not use screws to hold my figures in place. As it is very hard to remove a figure if the TSA is really in a mood to go over your figures with a fine tooth comb. I use museum wax instead. Isn't life after 9/11 great. I am all for them keeping us safe but I can say with some certainty that there is not a plane load of people in the world that will let let them selfs be taken over by thugs carrying box cutters or the files from nail clippers. United 93 proved that. May they rest in peace.

Do not get me wrong I would happily use that box so long as I did not have to get on a plane.

I got the box and severel bases at the MFCA show, as soon as I get a chance I will do a review for your pleasure.

Cheers
