Thanks Khorn I can see what you mean looking at the print. :)

A book published a few years ago discussed the origins of tartans which is well worth a read for those interested called 'The Origins & Development of Military Tartans by James D Scarlett. In this he refers to 'What makes the Black Watch tartan so distinctive is the occurrence of alternating single pairs and double pairs of black lines on the blue'. I'm certainly no expert on tartans so perhaps someone who is will step in - I really like the figure and it was just something that piqued my curiosity when I saw the figure

I like the figure figure much as the painting. Its amazing.
The Tartan looks wrong because as far as my knowledge goes there is only 2 1/2 rows of square's on the black watch kilts. Here are there to much.

Excellent painting and presentation.
Regarding the tartan, what I see is a very realistic representation of the material.
I wish I could paint tartans like that.

Cheers,
Andrew

You've done a fantastic job on this guy, I can see what they mean about the kilt though, the sett or pattern is bigger, which only makes your paint job more impressive.

Magnificent work, painting all these details and making the tartan on a 75mm scale figure is outstanding!
Congratulations!!!
