Hey Jungle,

well, well, well ...
Roman still has to catch up with other finished paintjobs he wants to show in here, but as we just recently enjoyed the tutorial about painting the color "white" Roman is ready to show you his result from his studies.

Speaking about tutorials and articles:
Do not forget to vote for this weeks tutorial via MV's year of the painter 2.

Roman painted this cool bust - sculpted some years ago by Romain van den Bogeart - to study the color white. It is always good to push yourself to study something in particular to learn and gain most out of it.

Believe it or not he did paint the exact same bust already in 2013, but Roman did not like the result at all, seems without a color concept and therefor it got primed again. Pft! Pft!and Pft!

Why "Blind Sorrow"?

Well, read a little bit about white via Wikipedia, it is interesting and Roman had this thought in the back of his mind while painting this tiny bust:

"In Western cultures and in Japan, white is the most common color for wedding dresses, symbolizing purity and virginity. In many Asian cultures, white is also the color of mourning."

Roman also tried to paint this old man blind, with a strong cataract effect. For this he also checked google for inspiration to have a look on the real thing. Now you know about "Blind Sorrow".

Hope you like the result!
