This is Captain Marcellin Marbot ADC to Joachim Murat, Madrid 1808. This is a Resin and white metal kit and is 200mm in scale. It includes the resin base.

This looks nice ,but 300 scale is getting on too manikin size.
On very recent thread ,question was asked box art or not, I think this answers the question. " very nice but would look superb painted"

Ithought you might have your interest sparked by this.
I suppose you'd need more clarity as to what is meant by 300mm scale.
Is it from waist to eyes, from base to top of plume or indeed calculated from a full 300mm figure sculpt.
Anyway I rather think this will do very well.

A nice sculpt of course by Alan , it will look great painted as said , I have a slight thought about the pose ...perhaps a little staid ...but its a bigone (Ooooh err !!!) ...

Maybe on my early 2012 birthday pressie or perhaps Easter or perhaps New Year ...but will be interested on the price as Ron says ......

Apologees, the bust is 200mm in scale I missed typed this morning (still half a sleep). The cost is £40 plus £2.50 UK postage, £3.95 European postage and £5.95 Rest of the World postage.

Mike, there will be some British Napoleonic shortly.

Thanks for the post ...not a bad price I feel , this is definately on my shopping list !!!!!.

Who is doing the box art as this is going to be something really good when painted ? What about the review ...love to see this close up before I buy !!!!

Yip I do like it especially now it is 200mm But got to say he looks a little british
another one on the christmas list , havn't seen the chap so maybe it is spotters

Very nice bust, if somewhat conservative.
Is definitely worth a purchase consideration.
But I agree with Ron, a painted Boxart here would have been nice.

i first saw the master for this bust a few weeks ago and it really is a superb sculpt,hopefully i will collect my order from mr freeman tomorrow.
when a bust is this well produced i personnely dont mind what we chose to call it,sure its no longer the classic sans any arm at all but how many 'busts' are. its an absolute gem and i'm gagging to get my brushes wet for this one. well done mr ball and mr freeman,please keep these comeing.cheers,steve

That was my reaction too....perhaps I am too reactionary but I like my busts to be busts. Once you chuck in the arms and hands, I think you may as well put on the legs. When I see a demi I always think "where's the magician's lovely assistant ?" (think sawed in half).

Very nice sculpt though and wonderful detailing (e.g. shako cords).

Thanks Colin! I wasn't complaining so much as making an observation. Alan has done a magnificent job on this piece and I wouldn't hesitate for a minute buying one.

I tend to be a bit of a classicist when it comes to busts as the training kicks in and I recall being taught that the emotion of a bust is "In the soul of the personality that pours through the face and eyes". I have never hesitated to purchase one that has the arms as well so obviously I know when to ignore the teacher's propaganda eh?

That's what I meant Jim - personal taste....I would be dremeling him into a classic bust....but the shako detail is about the best I have seen anywhere and the face looks to be pretty nice too. Most people like the demi format....I'm just a throwback.

i collected my example of this bust/demi figure from david today and it really is everything i had hoped,superbly characterised and rendered by mr ball and the casting is as good as the very best.unfortunately i lack the camera to share pictures of it with you all.while with mr 'bonapartes' i was shown an art work which will be the basis of the next in what will be,i hope,a long series of bust from mr ball and bonapartes.
one of the reasons for producing the long torso format was davids desire to include the white waistcoat dripping in gold lace shown in the original artwork. in terms of scale i would say that it is very slightly larger than andrea's napolionic hussar bust which is 1/10th or 200mm.
i feel that bonapartes deserve to do well with productions of this quality,thanks david my money has certainly been well spent.

I love the subject matter and the attention to detail. I'm not big on exposed teeth and feel they draw the eyes away from the rest of the work.
