Hello all,

Can someone tell me a bit about the casting quality of this mounted samurai model? Originally sculpted by Ray Lamb the figure is now available through Bonapartes.

The only reference I have is Bonapartes ex- PM 's Orléans Trumpeter. That one is excellent. It is impossible to tell the difference between the original PM version and the one currently avilable through Bonapartes.

Pegaso's 90 mm Daimyo on horseback (see pic below) by Victor Konnov could be an alternative.

Thanks,

Have had several of the ex-PM kits from Bonapartes...and all equal to or surpassed the originals....only point I would make....the PM seem a little 'static' in pose by todays standards...

Regards

I have all the PM Samurai kits. They were all perfectly sculpted and casted by Ray Lamb. There was an article in MM or may be some other old magazine did a side by side comparing an original PM casting with an ex-PM from Bonapartes. Overall the Bonapartes casting match the original PM's but some of the parts are not well casted.
Pegaso kits are all well sculpted but the castings are not as crisp as PM's. I would say just buy both.
