Hi!

This scale is a pleasant surprise although it is difficult to paint but at the end turned into a nice results.
This work "tells the story" of Colonel Louis Vasserot of the 17th line infantry regiment at Borodino before the 1812 defeat.
The German soldier points towards the Russian alerting the Colonel for the beginning of the battle that culminate in a resounding disaster for the Napoleonic army where later this he would be forced to withdraw from Russian territory under harsh winter with human losses of unimaginable proportion.
As you know, Napoleon Bonaparte conquered many countries and therefore had allies of various nationalities including Portuguese, Portuguese Legion commanded by a Frenchified Bourgeois, the Marquis of Alorna.
This vignette soldier pointing towards the Russians is owned by the Confederation of the Rhine, part of Germany (Saxe-Coburg Jaeger) allied to the French.

Hope you like and see you in Leganés if god willing!!!

Cheers,
Pedro

Pedro, Fantastic work on such a small scale and very well painted.
I am very tempted myself to have a go.

Regards
Bob

Nice kittle vignetter Pedro. I was thinking of a Perry Borodino scene also. These little figs paint up very nicely.

Well done Pedro on such a small scale, a really colourful little scene and well painted . I've painted a few 40 mm figures to go with some WW1 planes and found they need a completely different approach to painting than the larger figures, much like you have done .

Hi Colin!

I read some parts of the book of Philip Haythorntwait: Borodino, 1812 Napoleon´s great gamble and I thought in this scene in Borodino before place the order from Perry Miniatures.
Vasserot was Colonel in 17eme de Ligne and after Brigade Morand and also the 4th Saxon duchies are part of the XI Corps of Marshal Pierre-François Augereau.

Cheers and thanks!

You stick with the little ones for now Pedro?
The scene looks very nice. Excellent painting on these tiny figures...!

Cheers,
Adrian

Nice job on these two Pedro, the tiny scale hasn't held you back in the least.

What's the 54mm project going to be?

Thanks Colin!
I guess my next work will be a Portuguese soldier of Napoleonic era, conversion of EVD figure ;)

Cheers,
Pedro.

Great little scene. I really like the perry miniatures 28mm , especially the plastic kits. Have some medieval figs but always been tempted by the Napoleonics range. Are yours plastic or metal? The painting is superb for this scale.
Cheers
