Hello everyone,
I would like to present my first fantasy piece so far. It's a 28mm figure of the Lord of Rings character Boromir from the Games workshop range. Painting was executed with a mixture of acrylics, enamels and oils. (Inspiration for the colour design and the setting came from an exquisite rendition of the same figure by Jaume Ortiz.)

Hope you like it. Best wishes for the new year.

Mark

Excellent painting Mark. Perhaps next time don't use the flash when photographing your models, as it tends to wash out the colours. Great job highlighting and shading this figure. Maybe its time to step up to 54mm and try some of the LOTR figures done by Andrea??

Lovely painting on such a small scale, its a credit to you. But my greatest admiration is of your groundwork, it looks as though its just been ripped up from the earth, very realistic indeed.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
I originally had the intention to participate in one of the Games Workshop contests and chose the figure therefore - but I haven't done so far. The groundwork is a bit more ambitious than usually while at the same time complying with the contest rules (original black base is visible).

Tony, you are right about the flashlight, but my attemps without are even worse (-;
I still have to learn how to take pretty pictures one day

You did an excellent work for such a small scale and the base is simply amazing!

Very nice job indeed! I have a bunch of the GW LOTR figures but haven't tried painting any yet. I find them so small to work on. Again, fine work. Keep it up!

awesome painting in that scale, very good likeness, your own style.
Like it very much.
also the groundwork.
