Hi all,
This is my latest WIP, RP Productions 75mm rendition of Boudicca on her chariot.
Really enjoying doing this , first diorama/vignette done with a figure, so a lot to learn.

Beautifully done. I hate to throw a spanner in the works, sorry, but Boudicca was described as having tawny hair which, I think, meant light browny-red. Blonde hair was common amongst Celts but not in her case.

That's what the Roman sources such as Tacitus and Dio claim (they weren't always the most impartial of observers / writers of history) but given that her actual (real) name and even her manner of death isn't confirmed and known to history, I think we can make some allowances for her 'real' hair colour too. Describing her as having 'wild red hair' as Roman writers described her would also simply make her appear more barbarian and demonic and thus, increase the propaganda and kudos of their victory over her.

Look forward to seeing this piece progress as you don't see many built.

Malcolm, it's obvious you're having a ball whilst dong this project. Your enthusiasm shines through. It'll be great when finished.

We won't see many of these, so please make it a gem for us. (y)
