Hi all here is the box art for the Captain Morgan Bust. This the final bust in the set it was painted by Carlos Quintero. Carlos has done all three is the series and we think he’s done a great job on him for sure

You can order him plus the others in the set through the TFB Miniatures website on the following.

The pistol can't be used with such a wraparound belt, too bad.....

I can see where you're coming from, and its unlikely the sash could support the pistol in the position as it is now.
Many pistols had clips attached so that they could slide over a leather belt, and so its my thought, that there is a leather belt under the sash, to which the pistol is
attached. However I think you're correct in saying it still would be fiddly to remove.
But saying that this is a fabulous bust/figure, full of character, and paints up a treat.

Thank you Malc, John, Steve and Rick. It a pleasure that we know these Bust are enjoyed . Carlos did a fantastic job on all three of them .

Bran, thank you for your observation, you are quite right in what you say, but this Bust depicts Morgan after the sacking of Panama and his pistol is empty so he has just tucked it away as he does not need it, victory won. Ok that is my version of what I think could have happened. At the end of the day people do strange things. But it should not detract from it being a beautiful bust both well sculpted and well painted.

Once again thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

Nice one Brad, good reference, I think we might have been having a tipple of Captain Morgan when we came up with the design. A very nice Rum by the way cheers.

The painting of the fabrics, and the shading, is outstanding. But I have to say, I don't like the excessive shading of the face, it is a feature that has been increasing over the years, largely influenced by box art painting, but to me, it looks over the top.

Hi Henk thank you for your thoughts, I think it’s down to each individuals taste. Each artist we use for box art has their own way of painting, this gives us a good variety of work and our box art never looks the same.
