Hi Vladi,

great to see something new from you. That is sooo funny with his pants and his butt. Really great Figure set. I think this Marine will be thinking twice next time before he get to his Jungle toilet allone :). Perhaps the Japanese was angry that the Marine has an longer P.... than himself he,he. I was waiting for some NAM news and you put out such a great Idea. This is a must have in my collection and an eye catch on every display. Cool stuff Vladi more of that please :) :). This War series "The Pacific" is great done. Have it on DVD Box and is a nice one. Cool adaption of the scene.

Greetings

Stefan

Why? You think it never happened??? Marines aren't/weren't Supermen who only slaughtered Japanese soldiers like a shooting gallery.
Then again I remember a lot of negativity when the figs from Jaguar or Warriors came out showing the GI surrendering to a German, like US soldiers never surrendered either.

And just FYI.
I spent 5 yrs in the USMC from 87-92, the history of the Marine Corps in WWII is one of my favorite time periods to study and to model.

Thnx for your service. My dad was in the USMC in Korea. I guess you missed the ;-) at the end of my comment. So relax yourself.

I'm not saying it wouldn't/didn't happen. It did happen to a fellow Marine buddy of my Dad's in Korea. Except he had NO pants on. I just wouldn't purchase the duo. I would purchase the Jap officer seperately because it's a great sculpt and a rare subject.

If I offened anyone, I apologize.

Now, let's get painting!

I think this would offer a simple solution for those who do not like seeing a marine running from the enemy. I say modify the free arm with an open hand reaching for his trusty .45 laying near to him. That way it appears that even though the marine was caught with his pants down, his still able to fend for himself. Just a thought..

Reminds me of an incident in VN while I was with B Btry 1/11. One night several artillery rounds hit our position at Hill 55. While going down the gun line inspecting damage I heard several Marine laughing in one of the gun pits. I went over to investigate. One of the Marines was telling a story. The story goes like this. The Marine telling the story was on gun watch in the gun pit next to a 4 holer. The 4 holer was made of plywood and had a door and screen windows. Just before the attack the Marine on watch saw the battery armorer Sgt Springer go into the structure to do his duty. Within a minute or so the rouds hit. One of the rounds impacted between the gun pit and the "*******". The guy on watch knowing Springer was inside and after regaining his composure looked through the dirt and smoke to see the ******* riddled with schrapnel and the screen window's and door blow in. He said his heart sank as he knew the Sgt was probably dead. Then in a flash the blown in door came flying back out followed by Sgt Springer running as fast as he could with his trousers around his ankles down the gun line to a bunker. He said the last thing he saw of Springer was his pure white ass (we were mostly very dark from the waste up the result of sun and dirt) going about 100 miles an hours, the feet schuffling with 6 inch steps, at triple time. I guess he didn't pull up his trousers till he was safely away. Turns out the Sgt never got a scratch although he refused to go to the ******* after dark from then on. Of course he was the "butt" of many jokes for a while after that. "Hey Sarge everything come out alright?" "Hey Springer. Still consipated?" "Did you get the **** scared out of ya?" "Have time to wipe your a-- on your way out?"

The picture is of the crater left by the round that landed in my parapet. 6 rounds hit the battery that night but no one was hurt.
