As promised, I am being a little bit more active on PF so here is one of my new figures.

It is 120mm Bren Gunner sculpted by Rob Hardwicke (yes, ex Imperial Gallery) and painted by a customer, Simon Elmers. Where possible, I like to use customers photos as a "thank you" for buying my kits. Simon painted it as a Bren Gunner of the Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade besieging the German garrison in Dunkirk 1944-45, a good reminder of all the troops fighting under Allied command.
It is a simple kit to put together, a nice build and paint. Price is £34 plus postage/shipping. Fx120-124 WW2 British Bren Gun painted by Simon Elmer.jpgFB_IMG_1697793377405.jpgFB_IMG_1697793389067.jpgFB_IMG_1697793403074.jpgFB_IMG_1697793413306.jpg

A nice reissue (albeit I don't remember it from its first incarnation as an Imperial Gallery piece). As Warren says, not many British WWII in that scale and it's always good to see older pieces that still stand up today get a new lease of life.

Is the Bren gun cast as a single piece? One of the things about some "WWII-onwards" figures of that era is that the main weapon was broken down into multiple small parts with tiny keying surfaces, making assembly a nightmare and very fragile afterwards. Verlinden (for example) were a frequent offender in that respect.

Hi Steve,
I tried too but the resin casters said having it in one piece would be difficult to cast with many broken - and therefore costly - parts. So it is in 3 parts with the hand grip and barrel separate from the main gun section. It went together easily enough, just taking care to smooth down to flat both surfaces so that they fit well together.

I have another 1940 Bren Gunner being re-released soon and that comes with a single piece white metal Bren Gun so that could be an option for next batch cast for this one if it proves to be an issue. It all depends on whether sculptors place hands on the weapons as to what ones are interchangeable with one another.
