British Army Blue Wood Canteens. 1854

If I were to make a Grenadier Guard Sgt 1854 what would I expect to paint on his blue canteen? Modellers appear to be doing different things!

I'm struggling to get a definitive answer on this one. At least on my Dragoon (nearly finished) I managed to copy a Fenton photograph!

You wont get a definitive answer.
The Majority of Water Bottles were supplied by the Board of Ordnance they would have a Capital BO with a Broad arrow between the B and the O
If the Bottle was purchased by the Regiment It would be plain Blue. or 1st or 3rd G Gds.

You wont go / be wrong with the B O and Broad arrow.
