Roger & Dennis,

As far as wives and hobby spending go...

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.:sneaky:
Of coarse, eventually you'll get neither... but that's the sacrifice for art.:D

Cheers
Colin

Dennis, what do you need a book for? Dont you still have the photographs you took at the time when you were in Wellingtons mob or would you have left by 1751?
Sounds like a good book though, strangely you can never get too many.

Don

Thanks for the tip, Roger! I'll queue this up in my wish list, right after the 2-volume set on Frederick the Great's army, Militaer-Verlag, I think it is. Of course, this one comes in at a lower price than the Prussian books, so, hmm....

Yes, Thanks Mr. Turpin, or rather, Turnip, for this heads up. Like everyone else who has his two earlier books, I found pre-ordering this a no-brainer.
For those who have wives and feel that they need their consent to buy a book, the following strategy may help. I long ago traded in my wife for a yellow lab, and when I want permission to buy a book, I simply ask him to wag his tail if he agrees. I then offer hima treat, he wags his tail, and I am up and running. Hope that helps!
